Earnings Preview
Pre-earnings OEM intelligence — volume, pricing, and market share signals before the call
Purpose
Sell-side and buy-side analysts preparing for OEM earnings calls are forced to rely on company-provided guidance and 60-day-lagged industry data. By the time channel checks are compiled, the data is stale and the directional calls are already priced in by faster-moving market participants.
Earnings Preview synthesizes real-time MarketCheck sold data into a structured pre-earnings brief: volume trajectory vs prior quarter, ASP trend (pricing power or concession), days-on-market signals (inventory health), and market share movements mapped to ticker. Output is formatted as a concise pre-call brief with BULLISH/BEARISH/MIXED signals per metric.
How It Works
Execution flow. MCP tool calls are shown inline on each step.
Loads marketcheck-profile.md, extracts tracked_tickers and tracked_makes. Maps ticker(s) to make list using built-in OEM ticker→makes mapping (F→Ford/Lincoln, GM→Chevrolet/GMC/Buick/Cadillac, etc.).
↔ Parallel Execution
get_sold_summaryCalls get_sold_summary ranked by make for the current quarter period to get sold_count and average_sale_price per make. Aggregates to ticker level.
get_sold_summarySame call for the prior quarter. Computes volume change %, ASP change %, and market share change in bps.
get_sold_summaryCalls get_sold_summary for average_days_on_market and search_active_cars for days supply. Rising DOM = inventory build = margin pressure signal.
Synthesizes volume, ASP, DOM, and share change into a pre-call brief with BULLISH/BEARISH/MIXED headline, metric-by-metric signals, and key questions to ask management.
MCP Tool Calls
| Tool | Calls | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
get_sold_summary | 3–5 | Volume, ASP, DOM, and market share for current and prior quarter |
search_active_cars | 1–2 | Active inventory count for days supply calculation |

Cost Estimate
20 previews/month ≈ $3–6
Limitations
- US market only — sold analytics are US-only.
- OEM volume from MarketCheck represents listings/sold activity, not official factory shipments or wholesale units.
- Dealer group sold data may have 1–3 day lag from month close; mid-quarter analysis reflects partial period.
- International OEM revenue (non-US segments) is not captured — supplement with company guidance for full picture.
