Purpose

Market Share Analyzer converts MarketCheck sold transaction data into real-time share analytics without the 60-90 day lag of traditional syndicated reports. It tracks brand and model-level share, segment conquest patterns, dealer group performance, EV adoption curves, and regional demand distribution using actual transaction records.

For franchise dealers, the skill highlights where their OEM brand is gaining or losing share versus competitors — in basis points — so they can align stocking and marketing investment to where the real market momentum is. The EV adoption tracker measures fuel-type penetration rates period-over-period, showing which segments are electrifying fastest.

How It Works

Execution flow. MCP tool calls are shown inline on each step.

03
Share Delta Calculation

For each make: calculate current share %, prior share %, share change in basis points, and volume change %. Flag makes gaining >50 bps as GAINING and losing >50 bps as LOSING.

04

Limitations

  • US market only — get_sold_summary is US-only.
  • State-level granularity only. Metro or ZIP-level market share breakdowns are not available.
  • Dealer group benchmarking depends on dealership_group_name being consistently populated in MarketCheck data.
  • EV penetration calculations require separate fuel_type_category calls for EV and Hybrid, doubling call count.
  • Share calculations are based on MarketCheck's sold transaction dataset, which may not capture 100% of all transactions in every market.
