Purpose

Dealer group operators face a stocking problem that single-store managers don't: what sells well in one market may sit for 60+ days in another. Without a unified demand picture, groups default to buying what's familiar, not what each local market actually needs.

Inventory Intelligence analyzes sold velocity, active supply, and days-on-market by segment for each location's market, then produces a prioritized stocking recommendation list per store — including which segments are undersupplied, which are saturated, and where buying now creates the highest turn advantage.

How It Works

Execution flow. MCP tool calls are shown inline on each step.

01
Group Profile Load

Load all locations from group profile — extract ZIP, radius, franchise brands, lot size, and inventory type preferences per store.

↔ Parallel Execution

02
Sold Velocity by Segmentget_sold_summary

For each location's market, pull get_sold_summary ranked by sold_count and avg_days_on_market across key body types and makes.

03
Active Supply Scansearch_active_cars

Pull search_active_cars for each market to measure current supply depth by segment — identify undersupplied vs oversupplied segments.

04
Supply/Demand Gap

Calculate months of supply per segment per location. Flag segments where MoS < 1.5 (undersupplied) and MoS > 3.0 (oversupplied).

05
Stocking Recommendations

Produce a ranked stocking priority list per location with target segments, volume targets, and sourcing notes.

  • API calls scale with number of locations and segments analyzed — large groups may hit significant costs.
  • Does not account for internal transfer capability between locations.
  • Franchise-specific CPO requirements may constrain used inventory flexibility.
  • US market only.
