Subprime Opportunity Finder
Identify BHPH and subprime dealers — score by concentration, volume, and turnover for highest-ROI outreach
Purpose
Subprime and non-prime lending programs require a fundamentally different dealer profile than prime retail programs — lower price points, older model years, higher mileage, and typically independent dealers rather than franchise. Calling on the wrong dealer base with a subprime program wastes cycles and damages rep credibility with premium dealers who don't want to be associated with subprime offers.
Subprime Opportunity Finder scans the market specifically for dealers with high concentrations of subprime-profile inventory: vehicles priced $3K–$18K, 2012–2020 model years, 60K–150K miles, independent dealer type. It scores each dealer on subprime concentration, volume, and turn rate to identify CORE SUBPRIME dealers (dedicated BHPH operations), PARTIAL SUBPRIME (mixed lots with significant qualifying inventory), and FRINGE dealers — so outreach is targeted and the pitch is pre-calibrated to the dealer's actual business.
How It Works
Execution flow. MCP tool calls are shown inline on each step.
search_active_carsCalls search_active_cars with subprime criteria (price $3K–$18K, year 2012–2020, miles 60K–150K, dealer_type=independent) with facets on dealer_id to identify top 50 dealers by matching unit count.
search_active_carsFor top 15 dealers by matching count (min 10 subprime units), calls search_active_cars per dealer with full stats and make/year distribution facets.
Calculates concentration % = subprime units / total units. Scores each dealer: Subprime Score = (concentration × 40) + (volume × 30) + (turn_rate × 30). Classifies CORE (70+), PARTIAL (50–69), FRINGE (30–49).
Monthly origination estimate = subprime_units × (30 / avg_dom) × 30% penetration (higher than prime because limited financing options for these dealers).

Limitations
- US and UK supported via inventory scan; UK uses search_uk_active_cars.
- Independent dealer type filter is required for true subprime profiling — franchise dealers selling in the $3K–$18K range are mixed lots, not dedicated subprime operations.
- 30% penetration assumption is higher than prime programs to reflect captive nature of subprime dealer financing relationships.
- Minimum 10 qualifying units per dealer filter may exclude very small BHPH operations — adjust in profile if targeting micro-lots.
