Purpose

Cold prospecting without inventory data is a numbers game with terrible odds. A lender sales rep calling through a state dealer list has no way of knowing which dealers actually sell the types of vehicles the lender can finance — leading to wasted calls on dealers whose entire lot is outside the lender's criteria.

Dealer Match Finder reverses the approach: it scans the market for dealers whose live inventory matches your lending criteria (price range, year range, mileage cap, approved makes), scores them by lending fit, volume, and price alignment, and returns a ranked prospect list with match scores, talking points, and estimated monthly origination opportunity per dealer — so every call is on a high-probability prospect.

Territory-Wide Scansearch_active_cars

Calls search_active_cars with state + lending criteria filters (price range, year range, max mileage, approved makes) with facets on dealer_id to identify up to 50 dealers with matching inventory.

Dealer Profilingsearch_active_cars

For the top 20 dealers by matching unit count, calls search_active_cars per dealer to get total inventory, avg price, avg DOM, and make/body_type distribution.

Match Score Calculation

Calculates three-component Dealer Match Score per dealer: Volume Score (0–30) based on lot size, Fit Score (0–40) = lending_fit_pct × 0.40, Price Alignment Score (0–30) based on proximity to lender's price midpoint. Total: 0–100.

Opportunity Estimation

Estimates monthly originations = matching_units × (1/avg_dom × 30) × 20% penetration. Estimates revenue = monthly_originations × avg_price × 1.5% net spread.

Classification & Output

Classifies dealers as STRONG MATCH (70+), MODERATE MATCH (50–69), or LIGHT MATCH (30–49). Generates top 5 recommended calls with specific talking points per dealer.

Limitations

  • US and UK supported — UK version provides inventory matching only; velocity data requires US.
  • Minimum lot size filter (default 20 units) excludes very small dealers — adjust profile setting if targeting smaller independents.
  • Penetration assumption of 20% for origination estimates is a planning benchmark; actual penetration varies by relationship maturity.
  • Top 50 dealers by facet count — very large states may have hundreds of qualifying dealers; use ZIP + radius for tighter targeting.
